Life so Simple

Well last night sitting next to a warm fire, my man and I discussed what we wanted to do this summer after we get married.
Sitting with him I realized that life can be so simple and it can make you so happy being simple.
We decided that this summer we are going to focus on a few things to start our marriage out right.
Here are a few we thought of...
  1. Traveling- we want to take short trips this summer and maybe go hiking or camping
  2. Cooking! Yes lots and lots of practice cooking good food (and I here that the Kitchen is an awesome place for married people ;)
  3. Getting organized- This summer we want to come up with a schedule for us to stick to, such as a cleaning schedule.
  4. (This one is mine) Living more thrifty- buying some clothes second hand and maybe trying to be more thrifty at the store.
So as you can see there are some things we want to work on!
I have to say I am super excited to get married and start my life with the more wonderful man in the world (or at least mine :)!

P.S. Any suggestions on some other things we should work on?

We Finally have snow! I can't believe it!
I love snow so much, driving home from work of course it was dark out but man did the snow make everything look magical!
Here are some picts from my work, this was right before it started to come down heavier.

I know it is hard to see but I may try to get some more tomorrow if it doesn't melt!

I also went thrift store shopping at Goodwill and the local DAV store called RedTag.

I got this sweater for $3 and it looks brand new! I had already had the scarf but I think it makes a cute outfit.
$3 sweater from Goodwill!

Me sitting at work

So I am just glad I get to use my new camera!

I am off to see Les Miz with my man tonight!

Yes Ladies and Gentleman
I have finally added a button to my blog!
So go grab it and help me connect to others!!!

Learning and New Years Resolutions

Oh how learning is very important in a relationship.
Me and my future Hubby were doing our devotional together last night when I learned that I was not being patient or kind. Turns out that over the Christmas weekend that we spent together I had made him upset.
I know right! I had no idea I was making him upset and the whole weekend I was wondering what was wrong with him and why he was ignoring me. But he never told me what was wrong till last night during our devotions.
Turns out I have a lot to learn even though we have been dating for over a year.
I love my man and want the best for him which sometimes means putting myself aside to listen and be patient and kind.
As women we tend to let our mouths run and never stop to listen.
There is a quote that I love and I am not sure who said it but the quote is
" We have two ears and one mouth, so we need to listen twice as much as we talk."
Kind of makes sense doesn't it.
So my goal is to listen and not talk so much.

I have decided to start my new year's resolutions early so I don't have the pressure of starting them after New Years. So my goals this year are....
  1. Taking better care of myself: having a morning and evening routine
  2. Dressing better than just sweats.
  3. Being thrifty: shopping at second hand stores!

What are your New Year's Resolutions?

Merry Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Today has been an amazing day filled with joy, love and even tears (good ones!)

My Grandma got me this wonderful Owl Scentsy!!!

A Deviled Egg carrier because I make the best deviled eggs

My baby got me this very cute stuffed owl

My future mother in law got me this antique pitcher to go in our kitchen!

Our friend Chad and Megan got us this cool abstract owl that will probably go in the living room

My handsome fiance got me this piggy bank that is the best Ever! It says Worlds Greatest Teacher and even though I am working on my teaching degree this is the first thing that I will bring into my classroom when I am officially a teacher.

and who can go wrong with getting someone Nutella!

So overall my Christmas has been amazing! My mother and her aunt made my grandfather this amazing window with pictures of his mother and it made him cry, which I have never seen before so It was tears of joy but made me cry. I love my grandfather very much and I was so glad he came over today to share in the joy of Christmas with us.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Life has been pretty crazy lately. Mr. Hobbs friend came back to live with him until we get married...not sure how I feel about it. Mr. Hobbs loves his job which is amazing and I am so proud of him! School is over for now and I am on break. I have been working on some crochet which I will show you after I get the camera I bought for me from my mom (if that made any sense) Mr. Hobbs and myself went and saw the Hobbit this past weekend which was Amazing! In fact we are going to see it again tonight! I am super excited about that :) I am sitting at work trying to wake up (nothing is working, not even coffee!) Tomorrow I get to go see my kiddo's for a whole day at the school I did my practicum at. I miss those little guys. On that note all I am going to say about the things that happened last Friday in CT is that I have cried multiple times over it and I am praying for those little baby's parents. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost some of my students. I can't even imagine it. I pray for safety all over this broken nation.
I am getting married in 159 days! AHHHHH we are under 160 days... I can't believe it! I am ready to be married. Last night at my parents house (I am there till I get married) I had the house to my self and I cleaned and organized the under side of the bathroom cabinets and did laundry. I have to say I enjoyed myself. I would have enjoyed it more if it was my own home but at least it is good practice. I can't wait to make dinner every night and just be with Mr. Hobbs and enjoying our adventures together. So life it pretty good right now just going along and living life. Can't wait to be married!!!

Honeymoons, Towing Trucks and T-Mobile

I haven't posted in a while but don't worry I haven't gone anywhere.
Life has been pretty crazy since Thanksgiving so I will give you the run down.
Last Thursday my wonderful, handsome husband to be called me and told me we booked our honeymoon.
You could not believe how excited I was!
We will be going to Cancun for a month!!!!
as you can see I am very excited.
so I went to class after I got his phone call.
I  came back 45 min later....
my car was MISSING!
yes, missing
My car had been towed.
Ugh really! I mean I had just learned that I was going to Cancun on my honeymoon.
Turns out the creepy guy that was staring at me earlier when I was on the phone was the owners son of the building I parked at so he towed me.
That was $104.50 wasted.
Needless to say I won't be parking there anymore.

So now I have told you about two of the three things in the title of this blog.
The third is T-mobile.
My hubby to be got a job there!
Today was his first day and I am so super proud of him.
I am even going to his apartment to make him dinner after work.

Spaghetti with Spinach, Garlic, and Lemon.

Looks pretty good right! I think so to :)
Of course I found it on Pinterest!
I hope it turns out.

Anyway much love from Alysse :)
aka Mrs. Hobbs to be!
