{2013 A Year in Review}

This past year has probably been one of my most busiest years of my life. I have changed so much and so many things in my life are new. Here is a look back on some of my favorite moments :)

I turned 21 this past January, I didn't go and party which I am thankful for because that is not who I am. I did enjoy some time with my family and Kiel who at the time was my fiance. I got my wisdom teeth out which wasn't as bad as I thought (and I really don't like dentists...).

In February I got to see all my Bridesmaids and we all met in St. Louis and got their dresses for the wedding. It was such a great weekend and I had loads of fun. On February 15th it was 100 days till the wedding. I remember being so excited!

In march Kiel and I started Marriage Counseling, which was really great for us. I also had two bridal showers in March, which were both really great and I got so many things! I had my bridal shower in Illinois with Kiel's family which was a lot of fun.

Kiels family, aunts, cousins and all!
In march I also had my second dress fitting! I had bought the dress in a size 10 and had is sized down to a 4!

This month was super busy and crazy since my wedding was the next month! I was also still in school so I had to finish school and get stuff ready for the wedding. I did get a bit of cold feet in April but it all passed :)

May: Wedding Month!
I got married on May 26th and it was so beautiful and amazing. It really was a dream wedding, nothing went wrong and it was perfect. I could not have asked for a better day. I also had my 100th Post  which was all about the number 13 (p.s. it's a lucky number in my life). I even posted on my Wedding Day which I had forgot that I had done. I remember waking up to my mom and sissy because we had all stayed the night together, and started crying because my life was about to change, but looking back it wasn't so bad :)

We came back from our Honeymoon at the beginning of June and man did we have such a wonderful time! The beach, Mayan ruins, drinks and great food! We also went Camping with my family which is always so much fun! I hammacked with my sister, which is  really popular down here in Missouri.

In July I started the 101 Things to Do in 1001 days, which is really cool and I already have quite a few things done! I would say this is the month where I really started to want to Blog more. It was a quite month though.

In August, we found Dublin's Pass, which is a bar but also a restaurant with pretty authentic Irish food (and Irish music on Wednesdays :). We love the place and try to go there often. I also found the song Cups by Anna Kendrick, which I could not stop listening to! I still really like this song. This month I started my Senior year of college. Which is so unbelievable! I also fell in love with this cover of the Misty Mountian Song from the Hobbit.

This month we went to the Missouri's State Fair and had such a good time! On our way home I got Kiel talking about war and we ran out of gas and had to push the car. It was really funny and I still give him a hard time about it :) I gave some of the reasons why I want to be a teacher. I also had to volunteer for a community thing so I dressed up in 1800's clothing and made apple juice.

I posted about the movies I was looking forward to. (which most of them are amazing) I found the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate from Starbucks, which is now my favorite drink. The Hubs and I also dressed up like Duck Dynasty for Halloween.

This is the month that I had the most posts from this past year. I found the Great Christmas Exchange that Oak & Oats put on this year. (which was so much fun!) I made the post about Traditions to start with your Husband at Christmas. Kiel and I also celebrated our 6 month anniversary! I also made some changed to the Blog this month.

Kiel and I spent this month with family. We went to Illinois for Christmas and also got to spend Christmas day with my family. This past month has been quite a blur. We had our first snow, which in December is crazy because we usually don't get snow till January or February here in Missouri. Kiel and I spent our first Christmas together! I posted about my Favorite things from Christmas.
Our first Christmas Tree

This year has gone by so fast now that I look back on it. I got married, moved out of my parents, started my Senior year in college. So many things have changed and I know I have also. This next year I am looking forward to spending more time with God, becoming who I want to be and working on being a better wife. I hope you all had a great year just like I did!

{Trouble with Google!}

Oh I am so upset! So if you notice most of my pictures have a - through them where a picture is suppose to be. Turns out that if you delete any pictures on your google account, it deletes them every where else you put them! so most of my pictures on this blog are gone and I don't know how to get them back. So I am super sorry that my pictures are gone :(

{Pinterest & Long Trips}

This weekend we are headed to my In-laws in Illinois. Which I really am excited about because we get to see some of our friends that moved before we got married so we have not seen them in about 6-7 months! We also get to see all of my Hubs family (which I love!) They really are super great :)
The trip is the not fun part... well it is fun because I get to hang with the Hubs for 8 hours...but not fun because it is 8 hours in a car. I am also excited because Christmas is just around the corner! I have not been able to watch any of the classic movies this year which makes me super sad so this next week that is my goal to watch as many Classic Christmas movies as possible!

Here are some of my favorite pins from this past week :)

Have a great day friends :)

{The Hobbit and Such}

Last night the Hubs and I went to see the Hobbit at the midnight premier.
  1. I don't like midnight premiers because people are loud and annoying.
  2. I do like midnight premiers because if there is a funny part in the movie (which in the Hobbit there was) people laugh and when you get close to 100 people laughing it is a great sound that makes me happy.
The movie was really really great, but I am running on 4 hours of sleep because I had to get up at 7 am this morning for work. I am not your average college kid that can stay up really late and make it the next day! I need my sleep (trust me). It was worth it though I think.

We also have another Winter Weather advisory for my part of Missouri till tomorrow evening :( this time it isn't pretty snow but it is ice/sleet/ and lots of rain. I do get to sleep in tomorrow though which I am super excited about!

I still have lots of Christmas shopping to do! (I had better get on it!)

{Christmas Tree & Pinterest}

Last night we Finally went to get our Christmas tree. The place was pretty well picked over but we got the perfect 5 ft. tree. It is short, plump and round! (it's so cute.) The Hubs and I had a hard time at first because it is a real tree and our tree stand (that we borrowed from my parents) is usually used for big trees so our little 5ft tree did not fit will into the stand...the Hubs was not to happy about that but we finally got it in there and standing tall and proud. (I will have pictures soon :)

I also wanted to share my last three pins from Pinterest as a new addition to my Wednesday posts.
Enjoy :)

How amazing is this color! I love the skirt with the black and the statement necklace!

I love this little alcove!

{First Snow}

The first snow of the season fell this past week! I didn't have to go to my last class on Thursday, which was really nice. I got to spend time with my Hubs which was really great, I made oreo balls, mini chicken pot pies and we had a sleep over in the living room! It was a great first snow!

{ Winter Storm? }

Here in MO, we are suppose to get some bad weather. So far all I have seen in sleet and a tad bit of snow. I have a class at four that I really don't want to go to so I would love to have class be canceled but I have that bad feeling that class will still be on. On the radio this morning I heard that a lot of school were actually letting out early! Which at that point it had not even spitted snow yet, but I guess the little ones should be at home safe and sound, us big kids have to face this weather head on.

We ( the Hubs and I ) went to my parents last night to get the tree stand because we are getting a live Christmas tree this year...we forgot the stand again! This would be the third time we went to my parents to get the stand. I can't believe we forgot...is this a sign? I hope not because I really want my Christmas tree to be up! Hopefully it will be up by Sunday. I will keep you all updated.

Are you catching any of this storm?

{ Christmas People! }

Oh I have so much to do! Today I have some coupons so I am headed to Bath and Body Works to buy two things (One is for my Christmas Exchange person!) and the other item is for my husband. I think I have one more things and stocking stuffer's that I want to get him. I still need to get a few things for my Christmas Exchange person but I am super excited! I already know most of the stuff I am getting for Christmas this year, which makes me really sad but happy at the same time because I love all of the items! Oh and we are expecting snow this weekend! well tomorrow...but I am super excited! This weekend we are planning on cutting down our first Christmas tree! YAY! That is all for today my friends!

Stay Warm!

p.s. I got Netflix back and I have already watched three episodes of Dr. Who!

{ My One Direction Moment}

Okay yes, I am 21 and way to old to like boy bands...
or not!
I had a moment the other day,
I turned on the TV and the AMA's were on. I don't usually watch shows like that but One Direction came on and played their song Story of my Life.
I thought it was a good song so I went to YouTube and found the video and well...
I am hooked on this song! I really really like it and the guys look so cute in it!
I like One Direction well enough, I am not a crazy fan but I enjoy this song, so if you haven't heard it take a listen.

{ I'm Back}

It has been one crazy week! We had two Thanksgivings, Black Friday Shopping, starting new crochet projects and so much more. My Thanksgivings were great, lots of turkey and ham, my favorite is deviled eggs! My great aunt made about ten homemade pies so we had tons of food. Black Friday was amazing because for my Christmas from my parents they bought me clothes! I needed new clothes so bad so I was really really excited. I also bought myself some new black shoes, a Aztec print sweater and a purse and watch (the purse and watch are for Christmas technically) so I am waiting till Christmas for the purse and watch. I saw Frozen also! Such a great movie!

Black Friday Shopping

My crochet project! a blanket and you start in corner, so cool!
My awesome fridge! I love it so much!
I can't wait till Christmas!!!
I have so much to do still.

{ Lets Play a Game}

 Oak & Oats is putting on a game today! 5 Random Facts about yourself, so I thought I would join in :) Here we go...

  1. I Love Josh Groban. Like obsessed. In high school on our long band trips I would listen to his wonderful, amazing, angelic voice and fall asleep. Oh his voice is so great.
  2. Beef Jerky, I love beef jerky also and my grandpa used to make it for me a lot but after he got sick he hasn't been able to make it, which makes me really sad.
  3. I like making homemade bread, but I do not have a dutch oven pot so I can not make it at my house so I have to make it at my parents, but if I get one for Christmas...you better watch out because it will be bread making time! ( I can be the Ginger Bread Woman, hehehe)
  4. I can not stand being late to anything. I am very type A, organizer, never be late person; but my husband doesn't seem to whether we are late or not which drives me crazy!
  5. I don't like painting my nails...let me explain. I do like painting my nails but I have bad cuticles, so every time I paint my nails my cuticles get bad and I get hang nails and it just hurts. I would love to paint my nails everyday in a new color but it just hurts to bad. Silly cuticles!
Join in! If you do leave me a link in my comment section below so I can see your post.
If you are traveling this weekend, be safe!

{ 6 Month Anniversary }

Wedding Day

Today is the day! 6 whole months. I really can't even believe that life has gone by so fast, we have had our great days and our not so great days. Here is a look back from the last six months.

Favorite Moments:
  • Missouri State Fair- on the way home we were so much into a discussion that Kiel didn't realize we were out of gas so we had to push the car to a gas station.
  • Road trips to Chicago-stopping in the middle of Illinois to look at the stars and going to the Old Spaghetti Factory.
  • Halloween- going all around town to find Duck Dynasty beards.
  • Christmas Movie- Watching Christmas movies with you on your nights off.
  • The Office- watching almost all of the seasons of the Office for like a month every night.
  • Sleep Overs in the Living Room- These are so much fun ;)
Things I Have Learned:
  • It's not all about me anymore
  • Don't compare your marriage to anyone else, "Don't compare your chapter one to someone else chapter 20."
  • Sometimes you just have to let thing go and move on.
  • Be the first to forgive!
  • Try not to take everything personally ( I am still working on this one.) Maybe the Hubs had a bad day at work and it has nothing to do with you.
Things To Work on in the Next 6 Months:
  • Not taking things personally
  • Laugh more! Lighten up!
  • Pray for my Husband Every day.
  • Try not to be like a mother and more like a Wife.

{ A Saturday Alone}

Most of my Saturdays are spent alone, the Hubs works from 8 in the morning till 7 at night, so I have all day to myself. Today I really need to work on some homework but I am leaving my morning to clean, drink Hot chocolate and watch Anne of Green Gables. ( I am having a wonderful morning :)

I made some of my favorite hot chocolate and am enjoying my morning. I do miss my husband though, we haven't really had a Saturday to ourselves since we got married. Anyway, enjoy your Saturday morning friends!

{ New Look }

 I know I just posted but I got excited and wanted to change my blog a little bit okay a lot! But change is good (and I am bored). I hope you like the new design, it is a bit dark but it feels kind of warm and inviting to me for some reason.

Let me know what you think!

{ Life Lately }

  • Thanksgiving is next week!
  • The Hubs and I went to see Catching Fire last night (it was excellent and followed the book really well)
  • Christmas party's for this year are already starting to pile up!

  • My warm husband getting off early so I can spend more time loving on him.
  • The Hubs car broke down this week (mine did two weeks ago)
  • I saw my first motorcycle accident this past week and man was it scary!
  • It is getting COLD out!
To Do:
  • Finish a science memo for class, (teacher said it could take up to 4 hours to write...)
  • Get gas for my car while it is still relatively cheap.

Baby Fever...

So I have had some freak out moments this past month. It all started when I wasn't feeling good one night and my Hubs made the joke, "You could be pregnant." Um I better not be! was my response. from then on I have heard baby everything. The Hubs parents came into town about two weeks ago and we went over to my parents house and the moms started talking about when they had me and the Hubs. Great, awesome...more baby talk. and this has continued for about three weeks now. I really do hope that I am not pregnant. I mean I don't have time right now for a baby at all. I still have about a year of school left and now would be a bad time. I don't really think I am pregnant but all this baby talk has me creeped out! but if I am I will not complain either :)

Here are a few baby things from my Pinterest board.

if we had a baby boy, I love bow ties

LOVE LOVE LOVE these colors together!

how cute is this little guy!
