#26 Book 5 Anne's House of Dreams

I am back with the fifth book of six of the Anne of Green Gables books.
Anne's House of Dreams is about her journey in Gilbert's and hers first house by the harbor.
This book was so lovely to read and filled me with joy and sorrow.
Anne goes through a time of struggle in this book that just made me admire her more.
I love these books so much and I am excited to start the last book soon.

When Did That Happen?

Lately I have been asking myself "When did I get to be a grown up?" I feel so old and I feel like an adult now. How did this happen? Well I think in some way I have always leaned toward the grown up side, having two jobs starting between 15 and 16 years old. Always being on time and hating being late. Always trying to do everything right. I have always felt like I get along well this people older than me so I had a hard time finding friends my own age and still do. To be honest I don't like feeling grown up. I have been at my current job now for 3 years and I am almost done with college. I am only 21 but I feel way way older. It makes me sad. I am not sure what to do to get me feeling young again!

P.S. Any ideas on how to make me feel young again?

#26 Book 4 Anne of Windy Poplars

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
This is just a heads up that if you have not read these books and plan on it do not read on in this post because there will be spoiler alerts....

I was very worried when I started reading this book because in the movie series I did not like the part that involved the Pringles which is a family that is in this book. I read the book anyway (bc I have a goal!) and I did enjoy it very much of course, how could I have thought that I would not like it? The book starts out with Anne traveling to another province to become a principal at a school. She is engaged to Gilbert during this time so the book is written like Anne is writing letters to Gilbert because he is in medical school. It was a little hard to read this way because the author put in parts that says "two paged taken out here" meaning that she "took out" parts of Anne's letters which made me mad because I wanted to know what they said! Anne teaches at this school for three years so the book is separated by years (year 1,2 then 3). The book was great overall and I can't wait to get into book number 5! (this will depend on how much school work I have).

Of course I recommend these books :)
I feel like I can learn a lot from Anne and I so want to be like her!

Discouraged

Today I am feeling a bit discouraged. I have just been so mad sometimes lately and I just don't like it because I am not a mad person. So today I am standing on this verse.

Ephesians 4:31-32
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. "

It is hard but I am working on it. Pray for me.

Day 1 Senior Year

This is technically my senior year of college and I can't believe it! Time fly's when you are having fun.  Today was my first day of classes and I have two classes but they are about four hours long so today seemed kind of long but really wasn't compared to working a full eight hours a day. I get done by three on Mondays so I have the rest of the day to relax and do homework because this semester I will have to stay on top of things for sure. It is a good thing I have my trusty planner :)

The college I go to has a campus ministry called Chi Alpha ( yes it is a campus ministry and not a sorority or whatever) Last night we had our Root Beer Kegger which was amazing and I think we served close to 400 students! Can you believe that? I sure can't. Tonight is our first service and I am guessing we have close to 370 students although some of the other leaders think we will have less. I am so pumped for it! If you are in college and reading this check out Chi Alpha at your college! We have so much fun hanging out with our friends and worshiping Jesus!

Well that is all for now, more to come later :)

#26 Book Three Completed!

I can not believe how fast I am going through these Anne of Green Gable's books! I fall in love with each book. Anne of the Island is book number three and is about Anne and her journey through college with plenty of men chasing after her but she only loves one and that makes the book. Now I have to find the last three and I am not sure where they are since I got married and half my books are still in boxes. We will see where I find them.

School starts Monday and I am so excited but also a bit nervous. I feel that I will have  a lot of homework. I shall strive to be like my dear Anne and be the best that I can.

Ramblings

I really have not had the urge to be all bloggy lately. I really want to start working on putting more pictures with each of my posts but my mother is using my computer and the Hubs Mac does not take sd cards.
so I have not been able to put pictures up but I am really going to try when I get my computer back.
School starts on Monday and I am super excited because I will be a Senior this year. I am ready to get this ball rolling. I bought a new bag for my classes this year which will work as a backpack and purse. I am really excited about it and I hope it works for me. My grampa came over last night and fixed my sewing machine! So this week I am going to try a sew some pencil holders and such to keep my bag more organized this semester. Some of my friends that are teachers now start school today and I am so excited for them! They are teaching classes and I wish it was me. I am so ready to just get a teaching job and start enjoying being a teacher, I just know it is what I want to do with my life and I am so passionate about it. I started following some more blogs yesterday which I am really excited about because I just like to see what others are doing. I also am starting to not like Facebook. I know crazy but it's true, I mean why do we need it? The answer is we really don't. I would much rather talk to someone on the phone or send them a letter (which I want to start doing with friends!) I would much rather just get back to a simpler life with little technology and time spent with friends.
Thanks for listening to my crazy ramblings today.

P.S. do you ever feel like rambling about nothing?

Working on the Blog

This morning I took time to change up the old blog a little.
I rearranged the template and added a new button (still working on finding the right picture).
I also added Favorite Posts  which include the posts that I have written that were most popular.
I really enjoyed doing this, kind of like a clean up type thing.
I also added a Bloglovin button so please follow me on Bloglovin!

It is only Tuesday but this week already feels super long.
Tonight I am going to sushi with my grandpa which if you knew him the fact that he suggested sushi was like hearing the world was ending. It was a shock for sure.
It should be fun though and I am excited :)

Other than that school starts next week!
I can't believe it already

Much love, Mrs. Hobbs

P.S. Are you ready for school to start?

Cups with Anna Kendrick

I have been thinking about this song Forever and I love it
:)
Enjoy

# 26 Book Two Completed!

Anne of Avonlea
Yes book number two is complete in my adventure to finish all six of the Anne of Green Gable books.
This book was so different from the movie that I know and love so much but I decided that, that is okay because I just love Anne so much! To be honest I wish I was more like her. Her love for nature and her wonderful imagination.I so wish that I lived at Green Gables on Prince Edward Island. I told my husband this past Saturday (when I finished the book) that I wanted to go to Prince Edward Island, his response was, "There are huge black bears there." Where he got this I have no idea but the fact that there are black bears does not scare me and I am still set on going.

Book two finds us at the end/ beginning of Anne's college years. I will explain, at the beginning of the book she had just finished her first year of college and is off to teach at the school in Avonlea, the story continues on for two years and ends with Anne and Gilbert (the school boy who broke a slate over Anne's head) heading off to college again.

I like these books because each chapter is different, it is one continuous story but it lapses over time which I have started to like because I can imagine what happens in between the chapters. I have enjoyed these books so much I am starting to like the name Avonlea for a baby name lol
(What? I think it is super cute :)

I also complete another thing on my 101 things to do but I want to get the pictures set up first!
So keep checking in :)

Reading on a Rainy Day

One of my goals in my 101 things to do in 1001 days is to finish all
six of the Anne of Green Gable books. I have started on book
number 2 Anne of Avonlea. Which is really great so far!
Anne starts teaching school which is one more thing
that her and I have in common besides
the red hair :)
I also
am
so in
love with mint
tea right now! I have been
drinking Plantation Mint by Bigelow
which can be found in the tea and coffee isle of
Wal*Mart. School starts in a week and a half and to be honest
I am really excited. I have missed being around other students and things
to occupy my time at work. Summers are great but for me they get really boring.
This school semester will be great. I know it
:)

Much love,
Mrs. Hobbs

p.s. What have you been in love with lately?

Blah

Yes, my title of this post is Blah,
that's how I have been feeling lately which I think is okay.
I finished my summer classes last week so now it is time to chill till the 19th
which is when school starts up again.
also my family is on a cruise....
without me.
I had a total melt down yesterday because I miss them and also because I am jealous.
I have a jealousy problem.
My mom called and told me she won $200 in spa treatments.
AWESOME.
for her not me.
anyway I have to get over this feeling of being left out.
Every is telling me, "well your married now."
so what! It is the first vacation my family took without me.
I can feel left out if I want to.

sorry I had to get that out.

anyway this week will get better :)
The Hubs and I are planning on going to the Irish place again!
Yay! Irish food!

Irish Food

Last night the hubs and I went to a local place that has Irish food!
It was actually really good.
We had these eggs that were boiled and then wrapped in sausage and then fried....
it sounds like a heart attack but they were really good!
not the actual eggs I ate, the ones I ate looked better than this but this is the general idea.

We had some homemade pretzels and a Ruben sandwich, it was all excellent!
they also had live music which was super fun.
One day I will go to Ireland!
