Little Women

For my young adult literature class we have been reading different young adult books. The class is pretty boring but I like the books. This past week we have been reading Little Women. This book is 472 pages long, and she wants us to read part two which is like four hundred pages in a day. I love to read but yeah right! I have other classes ya know! Anyway I am loving the book anyway. I have watched the movie and it was just so great and now I love the book too.

This weekend I am also going to a women's conference in town at a church. I am excited but I don't know what to expect so we will see what God has in store for me. :)

Last night I had coffee with my friend Rachel and had a great time just hanging and relaxing and having girl talk. I forgot how much I needed my girl friends.

If you get the chance go to this website and check out Disney's Frozen! I think I am going to love the movie, it looks very very funny!

Have a great Thursday friends!

Reason # 1 Why I love being Married

Reason # 1 why being married is awesome: My husband brings home flowers and my favorite Starbucks just because he loves me!

Little Joys and Sorrows

  • I am enjoying reading Little Women, I have loved the movie forever and now reading the book just makes it better. Books will always be better than movies.
  • My sorrow are small but it is hard catching up with school work when you have been sick :(
  • I am enjoying quite time at work, with no one working beside me it has become quite and I like it.
  • I am loving wanting to be a teacher, I have done one observation of a class and now tomorrow I will do another. I can not wait to be a teacher and love so many students and watch them grow.
  • I am loving family time and home cooking. Dad making yummy dinners and Gigi's cupcakes for dessert.
  • I am loving figuring out that I am only in a season and even though I am not where I want to be God is molding me into the person that I will become and to rest in his promises.

Yay! It's Friday :)
p.s. I just took this on my Hubbys Mac computer, pretty cool!

This week has been one stressful week,
I was super sick for two days,
missed a peer teaching lesson that I have to make up,
my co-worker left so now I have double the work load.

But all in all my man stood by my side and today is Friday.
(it is also my moms birthday)
Yay mom!

So as I sit here eating nacho's from McAlister's and watching Dr. Who  I will look forward to next week and getting back on track.

Long Time no Talk

Well hello all!

My life lately has been crazy. Tuesday I got really sick and did not go to work or school and then Wednesday I did not go to class either because I still felt sick. So today I have to make up all this work and go talk to my teacher...not very fun. Life has been a bit stressful this week. This morning I worked on something for work for about 45 min before we finally got it fixed. My co-workers last day is tomorrow and I still have a lot to learn. (God give me strength)
I do have to comment on the Hubby though, he has been super sweet and took care of me when I was feeling sick. He bought me OJ and sweet tea because he knows I love sweet tea. He is my darling and I love him with all my heart.
I am grateful for the storms that are rolling in because a cold front follows the storms so Saturday will be in the mid 70's and beautiful! I am so excited :)
Moms birthday is tomorrow and I am not sure what to get her yet...but I need to do it asap.

Here is two pictures that I found on Pinterest that I absolutely love (just for fun)!

Is Pinterest Bad for You?

So I just had a huge realization. I was on Pinterest and I saw a Pin about a boy proposing to his girl in a very cute way. I realized that I was thinking how much better that would have been then my proposal from my husband. THIS IS A BAD THING! My husbands proposal was so sweet and amazing and such a surprise! (he teared up, I will never forget that.) I feel that things like Pinterest, although they are great for recipes and decorating, could be really bad for your relationship with others (especially your husband.) I can not even believe that I was envious of someone I did not know because of something on Pinterest. This idea really scared me because it can put up walls in my relationship with my husband because of what I see and how I think that other men are more impressive so I bring up my standards on things that my husband does not even know about! So I then get my feelings hurt because he does not meet those standards (that he doesn't even know about) How unfair is that!

So ladies and gents. Guard your hearts and minds!

Allergies and Noodles

So I usually don't plan what I want to write on this blog. The rest of my life is planned so sometimes I just write what I want to when I want to. Allergies....have been kicking my booty! They totally suck and it is not fun. I ran out of my medicine this morning and went to work. I felt so bad my co-worker told me to take a break and go get more medicine and I am glad I did. I am starting to feel better already. Noodles. I love noodles mainly Chinese noodles (even if they are processed) which is what I am having for lunch right now. I plan on taking a small 30 min break soon. I am not sure what I will do but I need a break. Plantation Mint tea has kind of been a life saver lately. I have really enjoyed it with some honey. I am also working on trying to get up early since I am going into work by 7am for the next few weeks. To be honest I think my body hates me right now. Weird sleeping schedules and all these new changes. Change is good but it does take its tole on you. So here is to change, good or bad.

#19 Part 3

Part 3 #21-30
  • Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?
    • I would much rather be a joyful simpleton. I am to worried already! Why add more stress.
  • Why are you, you?
    • I believe that I am "me" because of the way I was raised. I was raised to act a certain way and respect others and I am a hard worker which I learned from my mom so I would say that I am the way I am by the way I was raised.
  • Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
    • No. I am very bad a being a good friend. I tend to be to busy for my own good and never take time to spend with friends so I often am very distant from the few friends I have.
  • Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
    • Losing touch with a good friend that is near you because it shows you that you are either being a bad friend or you need to work harder to keep that friendship if you truly care about that person.
  • What are you most grateful for?
    • My family. My husband, dad, mom and sister.
  • Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
    • This one is really hard. I love my old memories because right now they are of when I was growing up and my single life with my family. But now I am married and one day going to have children so it would stink to not be able to make new memories.
  • Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first?
    • I am not sure how to answer this question.
  • Has your greatest fear ever come true?
    • No thank goodness and now it can never happen. I guess one of my greatest fears was having a boyfriend dump me for my sister. Which sounds weird and stupid but it was a fear. Now I am married and that can never happen :)
  • Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset?  Does it really matter now?
    • Yes I do remember when I was upset about something in my life but it does not matter now.
  • What is your happiest childhood memory?  What makes it so special?
    • One of my happiest childhood memories would be traveling with my parents when I was a kid. My parents were missionaries of sorts and so we would go to churches and my dad would preach. I remember going up and praying for people at a young age. The fact that the Lord used me to heal people ( I did not do it on my own strength (that would be impossible.)) was just amazing to me. Having the faith of a child...that faith can move mountains.

What A Week!

  • Kale chips! so so so yummy! Yummy Kale Chip Recipe!
  • Dr. Who. Yup I have joined the Whovian nation. I started watching Season 1 this past week and I have fully enjoyed the experience so far.
  • Silver Dollar City with the family. This past Saturday, my parents, sister and I got to hang out all day and stuff our faces! (pictures to come :)
  • My craving for Sour Patch Kids and Starbursts. I can not get enough of these things!

  • The allergies! They have come out of no where and it is hard for me to breath. It really is not fun.
  • Going to work early. My co-worker has resigned from her position and I am starting to come to work at 7am so I am up about 5:45am. Not good.

  • Kale Chips :)
  • Fall, I don't think it could get here faster!

  • Starting up some crochet projects. It really does relax me.
  • Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Dip! Recipe

Nerdy Reason Why I Want to be a Teacher

  1. I enjoy making copies of things. I don't know why but man do I enjoy the new paper sliding out onto the tray.
  2. Bulletin Boards= no problem! I can't wait to be creative and try new things!
  3. Door decorations! AHHHH there are some cute cute ideas on Pinterest.
    How stinkin cute is this????
  4. Decorating the classroom in general. It may cost me some $$$ but I think it will be worth it.
Paper Stalactites! Cheep and smart :)
  5. Making lists. I love making lists. I now, I am weird but I can't help it.

Anyway I can be a bit nerdy but I am so excited for my future job. I may get hard some times but I will carry on!

Love the best teacher ever (to be) Mrs. Hobbs!

Sweet Tea and Pinterest

Today my first class was canceled so I got to sleep in and did not have to go to work till 12:30. I have found that sometimes I just need a break. I really wanted to stop by GiGi's Cupcakes but I decided not to, so instead I got a sweet tea from McDonald's. I know that a Gigi's cupcake would taste so much better but it is more expensive and I am trying to save $$$$ right now.
Last night the Hubs and I watched Now You See Me  which was super great by the way! I loved it. Oh and here are a few things that I have been loving on
Tea/Coffee, a good book and a newspaper. Love this so much!
How beautiful is this?

I love this Mary Poppins Illustration!

#28 Local Farmers Market

Mocha bread!
I have been meaning to get these pictures up of the farmers market and the Missouri state fair. So check out my last post of the Missouri State Fair with the hubby and now I will share my experience of the first time I went to the fair because I have gone for the past two weeks after that! I enjoyed it so much :) The two new things I tried were goat cheese and this super yummy mocha bread! The goat cheese was soft so I spread it on fresh bread and gosh it was so yummy!
Smokin' Goat cheese was so yummy! It had some hot peppers in it!
This was so delicious! I had a great time and the next week I went back to the farmers market and got a goat cheese with bacon and chives and it is amazing also!

Love Mrs. Hobbs :)
