Grace will be 7 months old on Sunday.
She is eating sweet potato, peas, green beans, peaches, bananas, cereal and prunes.
She can roll over, almost sit up on her own and gabber all day long.
She loves it when her Papa sings to her and  dances.
She loves spending Fridays at her Grandpas house.
She sleeps in her car seat like a champ.
Never stops smiling
Loves here Mama (which see can say regularly now!)

Diary of a Working Mama

As the first full week of school came to an end, I was exhausted and ready to see my baby. These past two weeks have been emotional in so many ways. I had to leave my baby at the babysitters for the first time, I was going back to work after 5 months off, and I was trying to juggle the idea of pumping at work, twice a day. I had my ups and downs and emotional days. Now that I am on the other end of it, I can say that I am glad the past two weeks have gone quickly and that this year will be a good one.

Dropping Grace off at the babysitters for the first time was the hardest thing I have ever done. I left and she was screaming and crying, the hardest part was that I could not comfort her and I had to trust this other person to calm her while I was at work. I cried for the 30 minute drive to work and thought about her all day. My babysitter was so great and sent me three or four pictures that day to let me know that my little girl was doing okay. This first day at the sitters was also Back to School Night, so I did not see my Grace till 7 pm that night. As I walked in the door, my Hubby was holding my sweet girl and her face just lit up when she was me, I am pretty sure I ran to her as fast as I could. I held her in my arms and tears sprouted out of my eyes. I missed her so much and having her in my arms was the best thing Ever. Tears of sadness then tears of joy made that Tuesday one of the most emotional in my life.

I L.O.V.E my job! Teaching is what God has called me to do. I have been so excited to go back that I remember saying, "I could go back to school," one week after I had Grace. I love those little kids and it is truly a treasure to see them learning and having fun. I have such a peace about teaching and I don't think I could stand not going back. I never really contemplated not working. Saying all that to say that I was so glad to be going back to work but man did I miss my Grace. I also had to give this, pumping at work, thing a try. I started out pumping twice a day, my coworkers have been so kind to work with me during this time. I was getting so frustrated though because I was using all my plan time to pump and having to stay after school to get work done. I am going down to pumping once a day this next week to see how it goes. If I still can't juggle it all then I will go to formula. The idea of going to formula makes me almost feel like a failure. I know that it would be okay for Grace to have it so I am not sure while I feel this way. I maybe feel that I am giving up and taking the easy way out but it has been a hard decision that I have been dealing with for the past two weeks.

Being a mom and working had been really hard to figure out. I feel the pressure now more than ever to made all things work out the right way. I have to give my husband props because he has really stepped up to help around the house and pick up Grace everyday from the sitters. Life keeps moving and the Lord knows what he is doing. I am going to trust in him to know that everything will be okay. Happy Sunday friends and thanks for staying real with me!

Shepherd's Hut

My newest obsession! I first found out about Shepherd's Hut's on The Londoner. It is a very British idea and I love it! I have not found a place in the U.S. with these wonderful beauties yet. A Shepherd's Hut is a sweet and comfy way to camp but not in a tent. I enjoy camping in tents but these wonderful huts would be a dream to stay in, add some s'mores and we would have a party!

Wriggly Tin is in the U.K. and they have the most wonderful, cute and delicious huts!
the next four pictures were taken by The Londoner

Aren't they dreamy!

The Shepherds Hut Retreat  is also located in the U.K. but they also have some beautiful hut's with lakeside views!

I would love one day to bring this stylish style of camping to the U.S.!

Tulsa Aquarium

Tulsa, Oklahoma!
My aunt and cousin live in Tulsa and my little baby cousin turned two this weekend. We decided to pack an overnight bag and head out west. We stopped on route 66 for my cousins train themed birthday and made a pit stop at Los Cabos for a Mexican lunch then headed to the aquarium.

The aquarium is quite impressive. They hold the worlds largest amount of man eating sharks. The bull sharks were very impressive as they passed above you in a class tunnel shaped room. Their new exhibit includes a sea turtle! The one shown above, it was large and in charge. I had never seen a sea turtle in real life. All I could think of is Jack Sparrow lassoing this thing and getting off an island in the Caribbean. They had so many other things to offer but I think the sea turtle takes the prize. Grace of course slept the whole time...ahhh the baby life.

If you are in the Tulsa area I would recommend stopping and having a look!

This post is NOT endorsed by the aquarium and all thoughts are my own.

Little Sister

My little sister got married this weekend! I can't believe she is all grown up and now starting a new life with her husband. Mr. Collins is a great guy and we really like him, I know they are going to have a great marriage. I am a little jealous because they are on a cruise right now, but I bet they are having the time of their lives!

Update on Grace: She is growing like a weed but still seems small to me sometimes. She is the sweetest baby. She rocked this weekend with my sisters wedding. My wonderful friend Megan came down to visit and was my life saver! She took care of Grace during the wedding and helped out my family with getting the wedding set up.
She is holding her head up a little and those fingers are in her mouth constantly. She is blowing bubbles and sleeping through the night! She still likes her car seat and often goes to sleep in the car. She is my little darling!

 My mama, Grace and myself

This is what I love about my sister! She is goofy and I love that about her

We had a long night but my baby finally got to sleep. I think she is going to be my little socialite!

Life Update

Oh man, time is flying!
Grace is now three months old and growing like a weed. She is getting her hands in her mouth, cooing up a storm and sleeping like a champ.
School is officially out for the summer so my summer vacation has started. I spend my days staring at Grace and cleaning the house. I have to say that stay at home moms are the bomb because I could not do this all the time. I clean the house and the next day it is all dirty again! How does that happen? Although I am pretty much caught up on my laundry which is very nice indeed.
My sister gets married in two weeks and we are planning a vacation to North Carolina. I am very excited for this summer!

I love this girl so much! Thanks for sticking around :)

Preggo Tips

I now have a 1 month old and I can't believe it. My dearest girl is so sweet and I love her so much. I thought I would type out a few tips that helped me. I am no expert but these are some things that helped me along the way in my pregnancy.

  1. Night Lights: I bought some cheap night lights from WalMart when I first found out I was pregnant. The night lights still work to this day! Almost a year later, it helps to have them in your bathroom so those late night bathroom trips won't jolt you awake when you turn the lights on.
  2. Tums/Rolades: *Check with your doctor before you take either of these.* I usually use Tums but Rolades helped me through this pregnancy. I bought the ones with gas relief and they were very helpful.
  3.  Carbs: When I first found out I was pregnant I went into super healthy eater mode. You want to at this point because you realize you are creating a child. Turns out I needed carbs. I would be sick in the mornings if I didn't have anything on my stomach. Turns out it's okay at the beginning of your pregnancy to eat toast, bagels, oatmeal, ect. I would not have survived because I could only keep some of the items listed above down without getting sick. Once you pass the sickness mode is when you need to start eating healthier.
  4. Water Bottles: I don't like using lots of plastic but at work, water bottles helped me out a lot because I could keep track of what I was drinking and I wasn't drinking enough water sadly. But using water bottles did help when I was at work. I could set a goal of how much I should drink.
  5. Snacks: Carry some healthy snacks with you or crackers because you will get hungry when no one has anything for you. This also prepares you for motherhood when you have a toddler who needs snacks often.

I am sure I will have more ideas for you down the road but I hope you enjoy these few tips.

Grace Hobbs

Grace was born on Sunday, February 26 at 12:28pm! It was very unexpected because I was not due for another two weeks. It snowed that morning as we were headed off to the hospital. Contractions started about 3:30 in the morning and then she was born at 12:28pm. We didn't make it to the hospital until 10:40ish, after my water broke at home. It was so fast, I still can't believe it's all over and it's been almost three weeks.

My sweet Grace is so wonderful! She sleeps so well and eats all the time. She is perfect! Her coo's are the best. I love my sweet girl so much!
